University of the Arts London

University of the Arts London consists of six internationally renowned colleges, Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Chelsea College of Art and Design, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion and Wimbledon College of Art. Drawing upon more than 150 years of experience, we are Europe's largest university for art, design, fashion, communication and the performing arts.

Our mission as University of the Arts London is to be at the forefront of learning, creativity and practice in our specialist subjects. Comprising more than 24,000 students from over 100 countries, the University offers a range of academic programmes from further education through to undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees. Professional diplomas, certificates and short courses are available in a wide variety of subjects.

At University of the Arts London we promote talent, creativity and intellectual excellence in an organisational culture which helps talented staff and students to develop and commercially advance their abilities and ideas. We work to provide a bridge between higher education and professional practice and to serve the creative industries.

As leader in the art and design sector, we need to clearly articulate the practice-based nature of much of our research, and of doing so promote an understanding of the importance of research to the academic life of the university. The university has consciously looked beyond interim points of measurement, such as the Research Assessment Exercise (rated 5), to develop a long-term approach that sustains research at the heart of our activities.

The achievements of our students, staff and alumni are the true testament to our success. They regularly receive honours and awards such as the Saatchi Scholarship, the Sunday Times Award, the Jerwood Prize, the Fujifilm Award, British Fashion Designer of the Year, the Turner Prize and the Prince Philip Designers Prize. Our alumni are prominent in their fields and many have international reputations. Often provocative, their work promotes fresh perspectives and new modes of practice.
